Thanks to Ibrahim’s mediation, Canadian Kristian Lee Baxter and American Sam Goodwin were released in the summer of 2019. His diplomatic prowess was further proven in June 2019 when he convinced Tehran to release Nizar Zakka, a Lebanese resident of the United States accused of spying for Washington and detained since 2015.
